This internship is designed to provide exposure to various aspects of construction project management and field operations. Interns may assist with:

• Job site coordination and daily reporting
• Manual labor and job site support
• Tracking project schedules and project progress
• Reviewing construction drawings and specifications
• Assisting with RFIs, submittals, and document control
• Coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers
• Performing quantity takeoffs and material tracking
• Conducting quality control inspections and punch list follow-up
• Supporting safety inspections and compliance efforts
• Documenting project progress through photographs and field reports
• Driving shuttles to and from job sites. 

This position offers students the opportunity to work alongside experienced construction professionals and gain practical, real-world experience on active construction projects.

Camp Walt Whitman in New Hampshire reaching out to share a unique summer opportunity that offers your students hands-on experience in design-build, and project management to work in our woodshop. 
Camp Walt Whitman is a premier, co-ed traditional sleep-away camp located in the White Mountains. Our woodshop and creative studios serve as a laboratory for young makers, and for Summer 2026, we are looking for architecture students to help lead these spaces.

This role provides a practical, real-world environment for students to apply design principles while gaining valuable "soft skills" essential for a career in architecture:

• Design-Build Execution: Students move beyond the studio to manage the lifecycle of projects, from initial concept and drafting to material selection and physical construction.

• Project Management & Safety: Managing a shop environment requires a high level of organization, tool safety oversight, and logistics—skills that translate directly to job site management.

• Creative Mentorship: Leading and developing campers ages 8–15 requires the ability to communicate complex structural ideas in an accessible way, fostering a foundation in leadership and collaborative communication.

• Portfolio Enhancement: This experience demonstrates a candidate’s ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and their commitment to community-focused design and youth development.
