Camp Walt Whitman in New Hampshire reaching out to share a unique summer opportunity that offers your students hands-on experience in design-build, and project management to work in our woodshop.
Camp Walt Whitman is a premier, co-ed traditional sleep-away camp located in the White Mountains. Our woodshop and creative studios serve as a laboratory for young makers, and for Summer 2026, we are looking for architecture students to help lead these spaces.
This role provides a practical, real-world environment for students to apply design principles while gaining valuable "soft skills" essential for a career in architecture:

Design-Build Execution: Students move beyond the studio to manage the lifecycle of projects, from initial concept and drafting to material selection and physical construction.

Project Management & Safety: Managing a shop environment requires a high level of organization, tool safety oversight, and logistics—skills that translate directly to job site management.
