Dean’s Message

Welcome to the Goddard School of Business & Economics.

As Dean, it is my pleasure to welcome you to a school that is deeply committed to student opportunity, meaningful engagement, and real world impact. At the Goddard School, we believe business education should do more than prepare you for a career. It should elevate you as a leader and expand the opportunities available to you and your community.

Our mission is simple and uncompromising: We empower aspiring business leaders to elevate their communities. This mission guides everything we do. Whether in the classroom, through internships, faculty mentorship, or student organizations, our focus is on helping you develop the knowledge, judgment, and confidence to lead with impact.

Our vision is to be the foremost opportunity driven school of business and economics in the Intermountain West. That means creating pathways for students from all backgrounds to succeed, while providing a transformative and impactful educational experience. We are committed to ensuring that every student has access to high quality learning, strong professional connections, and experiences that prepare them for a rapidly evolving business environment.

Located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains in Ogden, our campus offers a truly distinctive setting for your education. This environment provides a beautiful place to learn, connects you to a vibrant and growing business community, and offers unmatched access to outdoor recreation and quality of life.

We are proud to be accredited by the AACSB, a distinction earned by only a small percentage of business schools worldwide. This accreditation reflects the rigor of our programs, the relevance of our curriculum, and the quality of our faculty. It also ensures that your degree carries credibility and value in the marketplace.

Our work is guided by values that shape your experience here. We are committed to ethical leadership grounded in courage and principled decision making, meaningful collaboration that brings people and ideas together, innovation that drives real world impact, and excellence in everything we do. You will see these values reflected in our classrooms, in your interactions with faculty and peers, and in the opportunities available to you.

One of the defining strengths of Goddard is our learning environment. Our smaller class sizes allow you to engage directly with faculty who are dedicated teachers, active scholars, and experienced professionals. They are committed to your academic success and to your personal and professional growth.

I encourage you to fully engage in the opportunities available to you. Get involved in student organizations, participate in competitions, connect with faculty on research, and take advantage of internships and career development resources. The students who engage early and often gain the greatest return on their investment and are best positioned for success after graduation.

You have made an important decision in choosing the Goddard School. We are excited to be part of your journey and look forward to seeing the impact you will make.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Oller, J.D., Ph.D.
