Ameritas Supplemental Vision Insurance
Effective July 1, 2026, Weber State University will be transitioning employee dental and vision insurance administration to Ameritas. This change to Ameritas for supplemental vision will provide two insurance plan options: VSP or EyeMed.
If you currently have VSP vision through EMI Dental, you will be automatically enrolled in the Ameritas VSP vision plan, effective July 1. If you wish to change your coverage, you must do so during open enrollment, April 13 - May 8.
New Employee Information
New employees with start dates from April 13 to June 30 will be temporarily covered by our original provider, EMI Dental, and then switch to Ameritas effective July 1.
April 13 - June 30: When you enroll in benefits via the New Hire Enrollment app in your eWeber portal, you will only see Ameritas VPS and EyeMed as options. Please know that if you elect vision insurance, you will have coverage through VSP only, even if you selected EyeMed. Selections made through the New Hire Enrollment app will be applied July 1.
Ameritas administers the Weber State University vision insurance program, underwritten by VSP Vision Care and EyeMed.
Eye exams are covered by PEHP Health.

Ameritus Supplemental Vision Insurance Rates
These rates are only for faculty/staff who are .75 FTE or greater. If you are less than .75 FTE, contact HR for the rates.
