Randall Kent, an instructor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø, received his BS in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Minnesota in 1982.  He then received an MS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1985.  His Master’s thesis was entitled “Chemical Composition of the Gases from a Fixed-Bed Coal Gasifier”.  After graduation, he joined Morton Thiokol and spent 25 years in Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Testing, and Project Engineering of solid rocket motors.  In 2011, Professor Kent joined ³Ô¹Ï¹ÙÍø as an Adjunct and became an Instructor in 2016.  His specialties are thermodynamics and motor performance of solid rockets, rocket motor stealth and IR decoys for aircraft.
